Please join us for a dinner.
I'm sorry, I can't. I'm busy.
I 'd love to go to dinner with you, but I'm afraid I can't.
I've made a prior commitment. I'm sorry.
I'd love to, but I'm busy.
Yes, that's a terrific idea, but you know, now that I think
of it, I can't. I'll be at home with my boyfriend.
I'd love to, but I've got to run (gotta run).
Sorry I can't, I'm tied up right..
It's very nice of you to think of me. However, there is a
important prior commitment I must take care of...but I do
appreciate your asking.
I'm busy, but thanks for asking.
Well, I'm not sure....let me think about it.
Hmm...I'm not sure. Maybe.

I'm sorry, something has come up. But thanks for thinking
of me.
Oh, I'm so sorry. I'd love to but I can't. Thank you for
inviting me.
Please accept my apologies. I'll be unable to join you, but
thank you for asking.
I am sorry to have to say "No,' but I do appreciate your
asking me.
That's kind of you to ask, thank you. I wish I could, but I'm
afraid I must go home.
