Definition/Meaning of this idiom:
"Kick the habit" means to stop doing
something, especially a harmful habit.
"Kick the bucket" means to die.
"Kick something around" means to think
about something a lot or get people's
opinions about it before making a decision.
Heel is the back part of our foot. "On the
heels of something" means "very soon after
something."
"Kick up one's heels" means to celebrate.
Example of this idiom:
The prerequisites for admission to the
Harvard University are quite demanding, and
those who were finally accepted had reason
to kick up their heels.
